Statement of Inclusion

At Marston Thorold’s Charity Church of England Primary School, as per our vision statement, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, nurturing family where everyone can flourish and achieve their full potential. We work hard to ensure that every member of our school community – pupils, parents, staff and visitors – feel safe and included. We are an inclusive church school and every child, whatever their individual abilities or needs, is equally valued and welcome here. We focus wholly on the positive well-being and progress of every child. All children share a common entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum which meets their social and learning needs.

We recognise, respect, and value difference and fully understand that diversity is a strength. We take account of differences and strive to remove barriers to learning and disadvantages which people may face in relation to disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, belief or faith, and sexual orientation. We believe that diversity is a strength that should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach, and visit the school.

We want all members of our school community to feel a sense of belonging within the school and wider community family and to know that they are respected and able to participate fully in school life.

We, at Marston Thorold's are committed to giving the best quality education to all the children who attend the school.  We are proud of the additional support we are able to give to those children who need a little more help and support.  As part of these we are developing in conjunction with parents and governors our local plan to support children in accordance with both new statute and our own vision.

Admissions
Schools are expected to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ for pupils with a disability. If a pupil has a disability and would like a place at our school, we will work closely with both the parents and any Outside Agencies to ensure that where possible and reasonable, we will make any adjustments necessary to enable the pupil to access the curriculum, wider school life and environment and they will not be treated less favourably.

The Local Offer brings together information for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.

LPCF’s main role is to gather the views and experiences of parent carers and compile parental feedback which it uses to represent members views at numerous meetings and working groups involving the Local Authority (LA), NHS / Health and others including the Department for Education (DfE) and OFSTED.

The Working Together Team is a National Autistic Society Advanced Status Accredited Service. We advocate best practice and provide specialist support to empower mainstream settings to ensure autistic children & young people thrive through collaborative working with families and professionals.
