  • School Closed on Bank Holiday Monday, 19th September 2022

    Marston Thorold's school will be closed on Monday 19th September due to being a National Bank Holiday to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.

    The Department of Education has released a statement saying that all schools and colleges will be closed on this day, in line with other national bank holidays. The school apologises for any inconvenience that this will cause.

    School will reopen on Tuesday 20th September.

    The pupils, staff and governors at Marston Thorold's School are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The moral standards, devotion to service, aspirations, respect, friendship, perseverance, care and empathy demonstrated so consistently throughout her long reign are an inspiration to the whole school community as we collectively mourn the nation's loss.

    Gracious God, we give thanks

    for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,

    for her faith and dedication of duty.

    Bless our nation as we mourn her death

    and may her example continue to inspire us;

    through Jesus Christ our Lord.
